Peppercorn Steak

We were going to eat the steaks yesterday and grill them on the barbecue when the weather was nice, but unfortunately the steaks were still frozen and todays weather wasn't as good. We decided to cook the steaks inside on the stove top.

Ingredients: 

Steaks
Olive Oil
Dried Rosemary
Dried Parsley
Whole Peppercorns
garlic powder

Directions: 

Place peppercorns in mortar and pestle and crush until you have broken then into fairly large pieces. You are making cracked peppercorn.
Thrown in other dry ingredients and mash them together in the mortar and pestle as well.
stir this mixture into a bowl of olive oil and let sit for a while to allow the olive oil to absorb the flavours the the herbs/spices.
allow steaks to come to room temperature. you can do this with the wet rub on as well, if you'd like.
sear steak on stove top and finish cooking in the oven.
